Après les oiseaux viennent les fleurs et les beaux verts tendres du printemps. Nous nous en réjouissons. Nous avons profité du beau temps de la semaine passé pour nous promener un peu dans la région.
Warmer weather, colours, smells, rain, spring is here. We enjoyed being able to visit the region a bit last week and take in a few photos.
Nous avons trouvé ces trilliums rouge lors d’une visite sur le sentier des VTT. Comme le sentier est fermé du 15 mars au 15 mai, je patrouille la section près de chez mes parents. S’il y a des problèmes je le rapporte aux autres patrouilleurs. Je dois garder un oeil entre autre sur les barrages de castors. Sauf que moi je suis contente de voir et photographier les castors, mais ces derniers parfois endommagent le sentier avec les inondations qu’ils causent.
We are lucky to live close by the ATV trail. Since I enjoy travelling the section close to my parents’ land, I volunteered to be a warden. I try to go regularly to check things out, condition of the trail, people abiding by the rules, (trail being closed between March 15 and April 15th, permit, etc), beaver dam and potential damages to the trail. While I understand the need to keep the beaver population under control to maintain safety on the trail, I as a photographer am always happy to spot one. This time I did not see any but we enjoyed the scenery, the red and white trillium showing off.
Cet urubu à tête rouge a été photographié sur le Ridge, dans la région de Fournier. Ils étaient 4 vautours perchés sur le toit d’une de ces anciennes petites granges à houblon. Nous revenions de Vankleek Hill sous la pluie mais nous n’avons pu résister et avons fait demi-tour pour revenir prendre des photos. Nadine a pu capturer celui ou celle-ci à son départ.
It had been a while since we wanted to photograph those nice little hop barns along the Ridge near Fournier. Yet, each time we passed by, we were always in a rush getting somewhere. This time, having a bit more time on our hands, though it was raining we were graced with the sighting of 4 turkey vulture perched on top of one. I turned the car around so Nadine could take a few shots before they decided it was time to go fetch supper.
Il y a quelque chose de vraiment magique a voir les verts tendres du printemps. La vie revient après un long hiver. Même si le printemps semble lent à venir et s’installer cette année chaque petit signe de son arrivée est apprécié.
This shot taken just down the Rollin road, on the way to the highway is in celebration of the return of the nice greens. It is an amazing feeling to watch life come back to the plants and trees around. Winter was long, and this certainly is a welcome sight.
