The Nats are back! Yep, after an absence of 41 years, Rockland has a Junior A team once again. Will they manage to rally a good fan base and inspire the youth? It remains to be seen. Yet, there is no denying it, with the CIH and now a Junior A team in town, Rockland is raising its profile in the sport arena! Congratulations to the new owners and the network around that supports such a venture. We wish them the best.
Personnally photographing the game brought back memories. I (Lynne) had planned to go in the players bench area to have an eye level view of the action for better shots. In seconds though I had a flash back of the last game I photographed in Arviat, during a tournament. I remembered the pain of a flying puck that found its way to my mouth travelling just at the right trajectory and speed to reach me while I was holding up my camera and taking shots! I went back up the seats and photographed the Nats from a safe distance!
Rockland renoue avec son passé en retrouvant après un absence de 41 ans une équipe de niveau Junior A. Nadine et moi avons aimé être présente pour la joute d’ouverture contre les Grads de Navan. Personnellement je trouvais que les Grads étaient un peu trop violent que nécessaire. Voulaient-ils s’imposer au début de la saison ou intimider une équipe qui est à se rebâtir? Leur stratagême n’a pas fonctionner. Les Nats ont resté assez discipliné pour aller chercher la victoire et plaire à leur nouveaux partisans.
