Last Sunday was almost like good old times in Arviat. I went to Clarence Creek Carnival to photograph the car races on ice. Not quite as fast as the snow machines races we used to shoot up North but still enough excitement and mud flying to keep me on my toes. I got worried a few times as some of the cars went off track and came a little bit too close for comfort splashing me and all my gears with a mixture of snow and mud!!!
There was definitely more shoving around during the men’s races but women held their grounds and provided for an interesting show too.
Une des dernières activités au programme du carnaval de Clarence Creek le weekend dernier, les courses d’autos sur glace ont offert encore une fois beaucoup d’émotions et d’éclat alors que les morceaux, la neige et la boue volaient. Je suis revenue à la maison ainsi que ma caméra presqu’aussi sale que certaines des autos.
